I'm on Freedom2Surf too (congratulations, they are excellent!) and I have a PCI modem make and model unknown - it was the cheapest one on eBay, about £25 quid.
I also have a Linksys WAG54G wireless router, but I have had nothing but trouble trying to use it, so I tend to rely on the modem!
