Hi Grey/All. Eureka!!!!! Tried installing the drivers from the 4 series...Most of them were incompatible, but i managed to get an internet connection. I then installed drivermagic, and downloaded the right drivers from their site, then installed them. The thing's running sweet as a nut!...

When I asked that bastion of computer greatness (PC World) about the driver discs, I was quoted Ł50. Well, you get what you pay for I suppose!!!

Anyway, when my mate finally gets in touch, he'll be well made up. Just won't realise what a Hassle it was!!! Made an image file for him on my pod, that should keep it simple. Thanks for the help...You guys really are the bees knees.
