Thanks RichieP, that was just the sort of article I'd been searching for with no joy.
So, sounds like I should use the camcorder to convert to digital and, now I have worked out that the i-DV out is really a Firewire port, I've ordered a cable so I can connect straight to my PC.
Just software to worry about now I guess. Intervideo WinDVD Creator came with my DVD writer, is that likely to do the job?
