I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 1000 to use for university from September. I want to set up a dial up connection that I can plug into any phone line at any time; I do not want to pay monthly charges as I will mainly be using either my home Broadband service or the LAN at the college, instead I want to be able to browse the internet as and when I want and pay for the call charges. The laptop comes with AOL and BT Internet ready to install, but both of these are subscription services and therefore exactly what I dont want. Is there a good browser software that I can install that will allow me to connect while paying only for the BT call charges?
