Please forgive me if I am in breach of etiquette or if this subject is already comprehensively covered elsewhere in the forum but I am a newbie and this is my first post here. I am pulling my hair out (what's left of it) following a repetition of a problem with BT Yahoo. I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 with XP Home. I could log on to Internet Explorer and also to Outlook Express, but if there was a link on the latter to a web page, I encountered a BT Yahoo page insisting I again enter my password but each time I tried I was told it was incorrect. After spending two lots of 30 mins on the BT helpline they informed me that it was a problem with an overzealous parental control that was loaded by default and when I disabled it, everything seemed to work fine. Yesterday I was forced to update my BT Connection and having done so this I am now experiencing the same problem, ie I encounter the same page requesting my password and once again it is deemed to be incorrect. The problem is that the parental control is not enabled so I don't know what to do. I spent another 20 odd minutes with the BT helpline and they were about as much use as a chocolate teapot! I am tempted to ask why they couldn't leave well alone? I have tried system restore to reinstate the old connection but as soon as I log on I am being forced to update it to the new one. If anyone could help me I would be really grateful. Edited by TheFatControlleR on 04/09/2004 01:37 (server time). |
