lost programs

When i click Start- Programs. Gone missing are all the batch of programs which have outlook, office, powerpoint ect. They are still in the system have found them on searchs. Why do they not show in progams and more to the point how do i restore them, Without using system restore?

Have a look in Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office

What version of Office are you using?
If it's 2003, go to Help > Detect and Repair > Follow the prompts. You may need your installation disc.

After a reboot, is the missing program folder there?

I have sorted. took the easy option and did a system restore. Not sure what caused the problem but back to normal now. thanks for the offer of help.
