Whirring Sound
      #394112 - Mon May 12 2008 04:22 PM

HI

Recently rcvng whirring sound very often when using PC. I look up in Task Manager and the CPU inevitably varies. H/ever when it is very high, is when I hear this whirring sound. I am wondering if I were to install more ram (presently I have 512 mb installed)if that might solve my problem.
Perhaps someone might be able to suggest a possible reason for what I am experiencing.

If the noise increases as the CPU usage increases, it's likely to be the fan that's attached to the heatsink on top of the CPU. Take the side off your case and have a closer listen.
