External hard drive has two drive letters
      #400762 - Fri Jul 18 2008 08:36 PM

Hi, I think this is the right place for this.

I have an external NAS hard drive attached to my router. I think I have have done something as it is showing up in the 'Computer' folder as both Z: drive and now Y: drive.

How can I get rid of the Y: drive entry?

Thanks

Have you partitioned the external drive?

Nope. It's showing exactly the same files on both the Y: drive and the Z: drive. I'm confused!

In that case it sounds as if you've mapped two network drives to the same device. On the Desktop you should have an icon for My Network Places. Right click and choose Disconnect Network Drive. Click on the Y: drive and remove it.
