I'm almost constantly getting an error message stating that rundll32 is having a problem and needs to close.
can anyone tell me what this is for and what i can do to repair it.
it always happens when i am trying to watch any videos i've downloaded.

Is it solely rundll or is another program name listed in the error message?
Perhaps you could post the exact error message.

I was hoping it was a different program. This is one of the real Vista 'pains' that has been around for a relatively long time, i.e. relative to Vista's short life.
Nero is the most likely candidate but I suppose you will say you don't have Nero installed.
I'm afraid there doesn't appear to be a solution. Perhaps System Pack 1 will clear it up.

Go to the Nero website and download the latest version.

The only other thing I can suggest is to repair the system files, which may or may not improve the situation. It certainly can’t cause any harm.
The command needs to be run from an elevated Command Prompt. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click Command Prompt, then ‘Run as Administrator’. Type sfc /scannow (note the space) and press Enter. This may take some time and you may have to put the Vista DVD in the drive. You can analyse the SFC log file, here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228/en-us

Evidently, the latest version of Nero does work with Vista.
An alternative is to try Vista's built-in DVD and CD burning feature?

Thanks again BurrWalnut fo you help. i tried using Roxio before which came installed on my PC but i just simply didn't like the user interface but i really like using Nero (it just seems a lot simpler to navigate). anyway i'll maybe give it another go. i did try using Express burn but that wouldn't print lightscribe disks.

What does the above mean? Is it something to do with a recording contract, he he?
Perhaps if you rephrase your question, someone will be able to help you!
