I have a new computer with Windows Vista pre installed.

I have recently used safe mode and on restarting everything is now in the old
Windows logos etc.

How can I reinstate the Vista logos etc?

What do you mean by 'Old Windows logos' (plural)?

The start logo (bottom left) is the old style flag.
Also my task bar was white writing on a black background -
it gas now reversed to black on white.

Have you tried the obvious; right-clicking Start > Properties and put a tick in Start Menu?
