Burning video to DVD
      #389651 - Thu Mar 27 2008 06:15 PM

I have a avi file and I would like to know what free programs except vista dvd maker will allow me to burn this avi file directly to the dvd in the dvd-video format.

I use Nero for converting avi files. You can download a trial from >>HERE<<
Hope that helps

Giveaway of the Day features StarBurn v.10 and I would imagine this would do what you require. Be aware that you must download and install the program within the next 12 hours at the time of this post.

I notice "Giveaway for the Day" shows up as RED on McAfee SiteAdvisor.
If you want a free alternative to Nero then Ive used DVD Flick in the past from >>Here<
Not as good as Nero but you get what you pay for.

Well it seems that the OP has declined to reply and probably didn't download the program due to the time constraint placed on the download. The fact that SiteAdvisor flagged the site in red is neither here nor there. Site Advisor is not infallible and should not be regarded as 'The Surfer's Safe Bible' I have downloaded quite a few programs from this site with no 'ill effects' needless to say I still use an On-demand scan with various Antivirus/spyware applications before opening programs. I don't have SiteAdvisor installed but prefer to rely on a hosts file with approx. 80,00 entries which is constantly updated. All the best.

I agree with you entirely Ray re SiteAdvisor. I was simply erring to the side of caution with it being a fairly new OP.
Its a pity that after answering questions you get no feedback to any suggestions you put forward. Ive noticed this a lot on these forums and after all manners cost nothing.

No problem Bob. I agree with you about replies to a certain extent in that not everybody has the luxury of being able to spend most of their waking hours on the web. Not that I do that you see.
