Application Hang

When my wife goes onto her site (Win XP Home) she gets an "application hang" and then egg timer is displayed and after waiting some time nothing happens. She & I have no idea of getting rid of it . She says that she has never touched anything or "played with the settings etc.

Try going into safe mode and doing windows restore to a point prior to when it started to hang.
