      #90968 - Wed Jul 21 2004 10:08 AM

You know when you click on a link with your mouse you here a click? Well, this morning when browsing my PC is clicking almost continuously - without me touching the mouse! Each click is accompanied briefly by the egg timer. Anyone else experiencing same/knows what the cause is?

Its not something simple like one of the keys on the keyboard stuck down
ME/IE6/OE6/Preventon/Spybot/Adaware/Spywareblaster/HyJackThis/Spywareguard/cwshredder

failure is not an option! It comes bundled with the software

Sometimes I get clicks for no apparent reason when I'm just reading something, but not frequently. I've got no idea what causes it.

I find on my laptop if I leave the cursor over a link it just clicks it automatically. Very annoying but I have found how to turn it off! :)

At least mine doesn't do that, but how do you turn it off? It might be useful to other people.

I don't know what you are running.. I have winxp home - I'm not 100% on this, but try to go into your control panel/printers & other hardware/mouse From here, I think it may be the "buttons" index tab that you click on. Is the "click lock" checked? If so uncheck it. I may be off on this, but let's try it out..

It's on "Mouse", Teresa. If you click on the "Buttons" tab, there is a box which says "Turn on ClickLock" and it's unchecked on mine. It seems to be about highlighting and dragging without holding the mouse button down, though.

Turn On is Turned Off, so it aint that. I've resorted to turning sound on speakers right down or off when not playing music to eliminate the sound. Today doesn't seem as bad.
