Hi all,
I've run into an odd wi-fi problem on my PC tower.
The wireless reception in my flat has always been very poor, mostly because of some very thick concrete walls coming between the PC in my study and the router in my lounge. As a result, I've had to buy a repeater/booster to bridge the wi-fi gap and previously this has worked fine.
I've recently bought a new tower which has a better wireless card than my previous computer. Now I get a much better signal and a much faster connection.
However, 80% of the time I get no connection at all, despite the computer telling me I've got excellent signal strength.
If I ping the router or the booster, I get reasonable results.
Because there's so many links in the chain (the broadband provider, the router, the booster, the computer), I don't know who to go to!
