Hi.
I've purchased an ADSL modem/router as we have just bought a laptop and want internet access on it.
Is it correct that our desktop PC will remain 'wired' via the new router? (which I would prefer).
If so, does this mean I DON'T need wireless card in the PC?
thanks in advance for any replys.

If that's the way you want it, then yes it will. Quote:

You're right, you don't.

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Thanks for the reply. All up and running with laptop successfully connected wirelessly to internet.
One other question though - at the moment the router/modem (NETGEAR DG834G)is 'on' permanently - does this mean we are permanently 'connected' to the internet as well?
I ask as I'm not sure how secure we are if this is the case. I've followed the security instructions during setup of router/modem, do I need additional security to be better protected?
That's three questions I think!
Thanks in advance for any replies.
