How can I change which WiFi Band is transmitted on a BT Wireless Home Hub 1800HG?

Why does the WiFi only detect 'b' band and not both 'b' and 'g'?
The Intel PROSet/Wireless card fitted to my laptop will connect to either and does elsewhere. Any ideas?

If your not receiving 802.11g, I would suggest that the router you are using is set to receive b only.

Look at your router settings, in particular the Wireless Mode, and change it to Mixed (11b + 11g) if necessary.

There are no band settings in the wireless settings page. I've downloaded the pdf from 2Wire and there are no references as to how the transmission band is set!

There are two versions of the BT 1800HG.
One is for BT Broadband, and the other is for BT Yahoo Broadband. They are both different Broadband suppliers.
They will not work on the wrong broadband provider.

Look at these links . . . > BT 1800HG for BT Broadband and this link . . . > BT 1800HG for BT Yahoo Broadband .

There could be a possibility that you have the wrong one.
Check who is your supplier, then look at the box, or any other documents you have to check which router you have.
