Can a wired PC & wireless laptop be networked (both on same router) ?

I have a wireless O2 broadband router. My PC connects to the router wired & my laptop connects wireless. but due to some reason im unable to set up a file sharing network between them... could it be the security programs ? firewall ? but i have deactivated them all but still no luck.

XP? Run the Network Setup wizard. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/homenet.mspx
Both pcs in same workgroup?
Have you set folders to sharing mode?

What firewall are you using?

i have set the folders on both laptop & my pc to share. Using WIN XP. firewall : zonealarm...will try what you said...i am sure i have tried it both still no luck but will update you...cheers mate

With the ZA firewall, make sure that your network connection is in the TRUSTED zone. In ZA, Go to Firewall/ Zones.
