Hi,
I would be really grateful for help. I had to replace my wireless router as it would not power up - Ozenda AR4505GW.
The desktop works fine.
Router IP 192.168.2.1
Desktop
DHCP enabled
Autoconfig enabled
IP address 192.168.2.2
SN Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.2.
DHCP Server 192.168.2.1
DNS Derver 192.168.2.1
Laptop
IP address 192.168.2.1
SN mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.2.1
Preferred DNS 192.168.2.2
Wireless is connected but no Internet connection.
The laptop will connect to the Internet when the cable is used to the router.
If the laptop wireless connection is set to 'Obtain IP address automatically' then the wireless will not connect.
If I try to repair the wireless connection it gives 'following action cannot be completed - Renewing your IP Address'.
Have tried ipconfig/release & renew and the renew will not complete - 'unable to contact your DHCP server'.
DHCP Client and DNS Client are started. Firewalls are off.
I have run out of ideas!!

Here are a few things to try :
- Type the WEP/WPA key in hexadecimal rather than as characters.
- Changing the channel number sometimes helps.
- Go to Wireless Zero Configuration in Administration Tools, Services then if Stop is there, click it and then change Startup to Disabled.

Thanks for the quick answer.
Afraid none of those work. Wireless Zero config was not at Stop. The WEP Key was transferred via the Wireless Setup Wizard.
I assume that I should be using 'Obtain IP address automatically' on the laptop?
What I can't understand is how it worked a few weeks ago but no longer (have tried a Restore to earlier date).

You should be using 'Obtain IP Address auto....'
Try ipconfig /flushdns
Make sure 'Never dial...' is ticked in Internet Options, Connections Tab.
Did you turn off 'Wireless Zero.....' and use the wireless adapter's software to connect?
Did you broadcast the SSID name (I forgot to include it in my previous post)?
Did you type the security key in hexadecimal?

The wireless icon is in the system tray (bottom right), double-click it and follow the instructions to connect, i.e. keying the SSID and its Security Key.

It does not allow me to connect, just says 'use Wireless Zero Config' ???

There are two ways to connect, either via Windows or your adapter's software. As you were having problems connecting, I suggested using the latter to connect.

Thanks for your patience. All is working. 
I reset the router, started again and added the network manually with Wireless Zero Config started and no WEP key (I know thats wrong but I can work forward from here).
