strange message on startup

this message comes up every time i start my computer
"error loading c/progra-1/mywebs-bar/1bin/1bin/MWSBARDLL
The specified module could not be found.
Also another problem is after i run spybot I cannot close the programme down.

First, uninstall the My Web Search option from Add/Remove Programs

1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel

2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs

3) Find "My Web Search" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it. You may also want to uninstall any of the following items associated with FunWebProducts.

4) Reboot your Computer and run HijackThis

thank you for getting back to me but when i tried to remove my web settings it will not allow me to do this and i get the same message error loading etc as described before.

sorry, i dont think i explained myself very well.

I am still getting error message and "the specified module could not be found"
underneath as soon as I try to remove the programme that you said.

  • Download The Avenger by Swandog46 from here.
  • Unzip/extract it to a folder on your desktop.
  • Double click on avenger.exe to run The Avenger.
  • Click OK.
  • Make sure that the box next to Scan for rootkits has a tick in it and that the box next to Automatically disable any rootkits found does not have a tick in it.
  • Copy all of the text in the below textbox to the clipboard by highlighting it and then pressing Ctrl+C.

    Code:

    C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch


  • In the avenger window, click the Paste Script from Clipboard, button.
  • Click the Execute button.
  • You will be asked Are you sure you want to execute the current script?.
  • Click Yes.
  • You will now be asked First step completed --- The Avenger has been successfully set up to run on next boot. Reboot now?.
  • Click Yes.
  • Your PC will now be rebooted.
  • Note: If the above script contains Drivers to delete: or Drivers to disable:, then The Avenger will require two reboots to complete its operation.
  • If that is the case, it will force a BSOD on the first reboot. This is normal & expected behaviour.
  • After your PC has completed the necessary reboots, a log should automatically open. If it does not automatically open, then the log can be found at %systemdrive%\avenger.txt (typically C:\avenger.txt).
  • Please post this log in your next reply.

please find avenger log and new hijack this log. On reboot the message did not come up so i am assuming this is now fixed thanks to you. The only thing it is taking forever to start Internet explorer and to close programmes but might be Ok now this is fixed. Thanks again.
