i thought i should of uninstalled java 6 update 4 first now i am in right pickle even tryed system restore but things where not right. i downloaded java6 update 5 to my desktop but when open it a box appereared and wheni clicked ok it just disapeared and didnt install i have done a hjt log.

As this isn't a malware problem HJT won't tell us much.
go to add/remove programs in the control panel and see what update of java is listed as installed
is update 5 still on your desktop ?

Hi Bricat
i had got myself in a right fix couldnt open internet explorer couldnt get to emails though msn or even open windows update.
so i sat her and thought what would bricat ot ourwilly tell me to do anyway i run ComboFix and hay presto i have installed java and everything is working just fine.
I am not sure what combofix does but by god it worked is there somewhere i could read up on it.
i have a lot of free time on my hands and if i could learn more about these programs i maybe able to offer some help to the people in here.

I went and had a look at the university but had difficulty reading the imformation as the print is bright yellow had to give up in the end as it was giving me a head ache. thanks anyway for your help may i will keep looking you never know they might change the colour.
