Checking through my contacts list
there are 7 numbers.The following
is an example.
04AD7C9C-9F6E-42A1-B56D-2768541E2A
When you hover your cursor over the
number you get:-
Type WINDOWSLIVECONTACT file
Date modified:18/04/2008 15:36.
Can someone advise me of what these
are,and if they need to be there.

and the address book that
comes with it.

Those Contacts are Windows Live Messenger type files. There is a write-up describing how to retrieve them using Windows Data's Contacts API, here http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb463989.aspx
Not having used Messenger for years I had to go to Microsoft to find out about them.
If you don’t want them, I suggest you delete them but backup your Contacts first:
Backup: Windows Mail > File > Export > Windows Contacts > CSV > Export and choose a destination.
Delete: Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Windows Contacts then right-click > Delete those you don’t want or don’t use.

I have backed up my
contact list,then deleted
the numbers.I looked at the
link site you sent,and I
must say it's as clear as
Thames mud.

Feel free not to answer but were these Contacts yours or 'rogues' planted on your machine?
