Outlook Express Missing
      #365874 - Wed Sep 19 2007 06:34 PM

Hi all,

Yesterday I installed IE 7 and then Norton 360 on my Compaq laptop running Xp Prof. Today I open it and firstly see a message from Norton saying it had stopped some sort of Trojan (i had left laptop on overnight downloading a large file). Secondly Outlook Express would not open, icon is still there but when I double click on it I get the "Open with"... "Choose how you would like to open this file...."
I cannot find it in Program Files or by searching the file. I have also tried a system restore to before I installed the new software and even the day before, but no avail.
Anyone know how I can restore this? If I restore it or re-install OE will it have deleted all my mail and address book?
Thanks in advance.

You could try this

Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components.

Are the Internet Explorer & Outlook Express boxes checked or not?

If the oe isn't there then you can try and reinstall it. click this to get it.

It may also be an idea to post a Highjack This log here for one of the experts to examine before any of the above.

Good luck.
