email not getting through
      #361175 - Mon Aug 13 2007 09:54 AM

Hi,

My outlook express is trying to deliver 8 messages but is getting stuck on message 2, so for last 12 hours I always get message 1 delivered then it comes up with error message starting ' Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.'
Nothing is being shown as being caught by AV filter and going to my mail box online, my Inbox is empty so I can't delete it there. Do I have to wait till it becomes undelivered after a 24?hour period or can someone give me any suggestions. (I am reluctant to turn off AV to see if this helps!)Also, I'd like to receive messages 3-8 but will sacrifice them for the greater good if necessary.
Thanks in advance for advice

I don't understand how your on-line mailbox can be empty when it is still trying to deliver messages to your PC. Who is your ISP?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

ISP is Namesco(prev NDO), who have not given me any problems before (approx 9yrs). I have subsequently spoken to them and did disable my Virus checker (The Shield - US based - found last year when trying to find alternative to Norton www.pcsecurityshield.com/).

I am now getting messages through but have apparently lost the ones behind the one that got stuck :-( (will be trying to find if they have been stored in recesses of computer somewhere).

Don't know if this should continue on this thread but as Shield was coming to end of first year I could go for a different, recommended , anti virus package. Suggestions welcome.

Cheers
