I have issues with www.1223-reg and Webuser['WEBUSER and '123-reg. I am quite a novice to the technical side of computing and as such find it quite difficult mastering all the jargon etc. anyway, being a professional musician very recently retired I decided I would like to setup a website which would be similar to my channels at'www.Youtube.com/ronniebeal and 'www.Livevideo.com/ronbeal but my site would be a free site dedicated to musicians, lots of feedback has came my way, all my friends thought this would make a brilliant site. Anyway browsing the internet to find a suitable company to set up a domain and site I found 123-reg was given an award from 'WEBUSER so what better recommendation did I need than that, so just over a week ago I went ahead and spent £31.81 for the domain name 'www.musiciansclub.co.uk and also their web hosting package. which seemed quite reasonable except for when I needed their help, first I tried their telephone helpline, but obviously it was a busy time and after 15 minutes of waiting on the line it went dead, so I wasn't too enthusiastic trying that approach again, then I contacted their online help pages, only to discover they rarely answer requests for assistance anyway. A week ago I requested their help after explaining my contention in setting up a non profit site for musicians explaining that I wanted to upload small video clips into the site ''no answer to that one to date, next after following their online instructions I downloaded 'Filezilla and spent a whole day trying to use it. then after a further two days of waiting for their response they sent me a short email saying 'I can't use any external editors with my particular package, and I could only edit my site using their limited online sitebuilder. I find this terribly misleading because I have subscribed to their Starter Plus package at £2.99 a month and the stats, are: Perl-CGI Perl-CGI scripting included FrontPage extensions Only £25 a year E-mail POP3 mailboxes 25 Free webmail Free webmail Unlimited e-mail forwarding Unlimited e-mail forwarding addresses included Other features Online file-manager Online file-manager included FTP access FTP access included Webalizer stats Webalizer statistics and so on. To a novice like myself that sounds quite impressive and I certainly thought the package would do everything I needed, but not so. I have been trying hard to get the Url submitted to Google but cannot work-out how to insert either 'metatags or Html text into the site so as to get the site verified by google and without being able to verify they will not include my url to their search site. 123-reg will not answer my request for help on this issue. Trouble is I have spent so many hours in setting up this site that I don't want to just cancel it and go with another company, but what else is there for me to do. PLEASE can anyone spare the time to help me on this issue. my email address is 'xxxxxxxxl@xxxxxxxl.com regards ronbeal

Hi Ron,
The only advice I can offer regarding the issues you claim to have with 123-reg and Web-User is to contact them direct instead of posting what appears to be a rant on a members forum.
You may have noticed your duplicate post and email address have been removed, this is because duplicates are against the forum rules and unnecessary. Posting your email address like that is an open invitation to spammers and may cause you problems in the future. Please also stop contacting the Moderators each time you post.
If its technical assistance you require then explain the problem/s you are having as best you can and another member may volunteer to advise you but obviously this cannot be guaranteed.
Your co-operation would be appreciated.
Joe.

Hi Joe, Thanks for your reply, although I must say it wasn't exactly what I was had in mind. Firstly please allow me to apologise for the rant as you politely put it, Clearly it was far from my intention to have a rant on the forum. It really was ment to com accross more as a cry for help with total confusion. 'however your remarks have been noted. Ron

All issues with 'WEBUSER and www.123-reg.co.uk have now been completely resolved after today having a telephone call from 'Sarah Cooper, from the Customer Solutions Team, at 123-reg. Apparently after seeing my post on 'Webuser and responded immediately. Sarah has been wonderfully helpful and apologised for not being able to get back to me before, apparently they've had problems themselves which has now also been resolved. Anyway bottom line...I'm completely satisfied with the outcome.'Well done 'Sarah Cooper and thumbs-up www.123-reg.co.uk Also thanks to 'Webuser for being able to post for help. thanks 'Webuser Ron
