Hi,
I am looking into creating my own website. Can you recommend any good sites that provide hosting and registering domain names?
I noticed 123 isn't very good and is getting complaints.
Also, I need simple tools to design my website.
All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I use a company called siteHQ.
There have UK and US based hosting and also register domains at very good prices.(£30 a month for a decent starter hosting package).
In terms of creating webpages, you can also delve into learning HTML and CSS.
W3Schools HTML Dog
Are 2 examples.
I'm not experienced in page creation software that is free, but I do use Dreamweaver (although maybe too expensive for a first time learner).
I know Fast Hosts have a site builder with their hosting, but I wouldn't recommend them (bad experiences).
There's a trial version of Net Objects Fusion might be worth looking at.
I'm sure some other forum members will post some information regarding these.

You could get a CMS set up there are many goods ones around which create an excellent site and you dont have to worry about any html etc. Some hosts may install one free if you take out hosting with them, I have a number of sites and the main thing for me is customer service, the best company I have found and been with for about 2 years now is http://www.secmas.net their site is in Spanish but contact them as they speak perfect English tell them what you want they will be very helpful and have been very good to me.
Cheers

Ecaxtly what ianm said. Customer service is key. There's no point in getting a good hosting package in terms of space and add-ons if when you need help and need to contact the host it takes them 2 weeks to reply. SiteHQ are very fast in resolving my issues, normally only taking a couple of hours to respond and are always helpful. I would search around. Webhosting Talk is a good starting point. There are lots of hosts around and its often a place where people will share experiences and give advice.

Thanks.
I'm looking to do a similar thing, and these links posted here were very helpful.
