Hello, not posted for a long time...
I recently bought an Auction website to go up against the behemoth eBay. I bought my '.co.uk' instant domain name, which the software people registered with 'Whois' on their Server. I then bought an SSL, but when I apply for the Certificate, they need to obtain an automatic email to confirm who I am. I keep getting errors backsaying they can't I have been onto the domain people who said that I need to put myself in the 'public domain', but that didn't work. They then said that the domain I have is not allowed an SSL. Is this correct? If so, what do I need? Obviously, like all new sites, I am trying to do it cheap, but make the site secure. I bought the SSL from 'godaddy' for approx. £5,00, but it does what I want it to, but I can't get it to work! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as to what to do. I'm a novice at this, so if you can give me an idiot's guide, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks for reading my post and look forward to your expert advice.
Regards, Craig

It won't be the domain that cant have SSL on it, because it is possible to secure any domain name with an SSL Cert.
My guess is the host who the domain points to cannot supply you with a fixed IP address. All SSL certs need a fixed IP address to work from. If you have your domain hosted with a smaller company who does not have the ability to offer a fixed IP address, then you will need to move hosts.
What type of certificate did you buy? If they need to email your domain, then you need to set up the email address in your hosting control panel and then either configure your email client or use webmail to read and reply.
