web folders

A friend has used serif webplus to design a new web site and uploaded it to his webspace its now in a folder there he already made a site with the software supplied by his isp (which doesnt know anything about using it and is no help) now he has this new site in a folder can anybody tell me how he uses it to replace the old one i have no knowledge of this and he has very limited as you may of guessed but using this forum before thought it was good place to find out any help greatfully recieved

Hi Dave,

Basically the folder with the new site in needs to become the root folder on the web server. I assume that the new home page (index.html) is also in the folder? If so he needs to transfer the entire contents of the folder (including any subfolders) into the root of the site replacing any previous index.html file. There may be other files already in the root but I wouldn't delete them until he's sure they are not required for access, logging, etc.
