possible javascript problem
      #176564 - Thu Apr 07 2005 08:55 PM

Hi - hope someone can help. Whenever i click on link in a website using IE which would normally open up a separate window, nothing happens - sometimes get a white screen which then reverts back to the original website after a few seconds. Example of a site would be www.chelseafc.com when I try to click on the chat link. I think it might be something to do with javascript but I don't know much about this.

First thing to try is hold down the Ctrl key when you click on a link.

To see if you have Javascript enabled on yur browser, follow this link and click on the "Check Javascript" link at the bottom.

I had a quick look at the Chelsea Chat and it worked for me (eugh, spit), but I can't see anything where it says what you need installed. Can you give any other sites where it happens? Did you try the Ctrl key suggestion?

That link opens up an HJT log for someone else's PC. HJT logs are specific to one computer and the solutions offered for one will not necessarily work on another. Is the log referred to your own?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Yes I agree but it highlights the offending file in Windows\System32\req.dat. That was how I isolated my corrupt file.
