hiya
i have virgin media and a linksys router, my pc kids pc, main pc and lappy work fine off the same connection via the router but when i connect a different computer the internet doesnt work even if i plug the linksys into it.i have tried loading the cds into the pc for the linksys and it still doesnt find a connection, the main pc does and my lappy however so i know connection is ok, i have a pc i wud like to replace the kids one with but cannot get it to connect to an internet connection , please hep its probbaly something very simple but its frustrating trying to work it out.i have checked the internet connections on internet opetions and its the same config as my current pc.
the kids one isnt much good that they use now and wnated to update it!
my step daughter brought her pc here and we had same problem even tho it connected to hers at her house , please help so i can get this mission completed

Can I check a few things first. You say you have VM - is that cable or a telephone connection? What's the model number of your router?

its cable VM broadband and the router model number is inksys WRT54GS with speedbooster

Right, so your VM Modem is connected to the router via ethernet cable. Your PC and/or laptops should then be connected to the router either via ethernet cable or wireless. Can you tell me which ones are connected by cable and which by wireless.

hiya
the main pc is by cable which also connects to the router the others are wireless.
thanks for all the help i am now
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED lol i managed to run the linksys disk and it worked
