Do I need another graphics card ?
      #390735 - Mon Apr 07 2008 09:21 PM

Hi,
In september last year I had lines all down screen and coloured squares(ATI all-in-wonder 9800 pro)I thought it might be the monitor and changed with another and there was no problem.I phoned a local shop here and the guy said it was the graphics card,I searched all over the net and couldnt track one down anywhere, now when I put it into the shop the guy said he got one in the shop,he charged £66,I still think he used my old card but I could be wrong anyway to cut a long story short 7 months now and the same things happened,I'm sure he said I had a years guarantee,is he likely to charge me again if he has to put another one in or should that be covered,I want to be certain of my rights before I phone tomorrow.

Many thanks from Vi

A graphics card should last longer than 7 months. He should change it without an argument. Incidentally, when you buy a graphics card, you don't have to buy exactly the same one as the one you already have. You can always upgrade to a better one.

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Thanks greysts, will phone tomorrow and see what he says,I was just worried in case he wanted to put something dearer in and try and charge for time etc.maybe I am just being cynical, but when a woman goes into a pc shop,I think they wont try and con a man the same.
