Time taken for images to display
      #389465 - Wed Mar 26 2008 07:17 AM

Hi,

Having a few problems when I'm browsing the internet. Tried 3 different browsers - IE, FF and Opera but as the page loads it's taking ages for the images to display, so the page does not load properly.

Any ideas? Any help greatly appreciated - Many thanks Del.

Sorry, but could not edit my post to add extra info due to this problem.

Just taken me several attempts to actually access webuser forums. Finally did it by using back and forwards buttons. Other than that it keeps timing out on webuser. On other sites like supermarkets (food shop!) the page starts loading but nothing happens. The progress bar moves to almost done and then nothing happens - Doesn't time out.

I've checked my firewall and even turned it off for a few seconds but no difference - Can't be firewall then!

I've recently moved to BT broadband and my speeds have varied but I'm sure this is a separate issue as it doesn't happen on all sites.

Any help would be great.

Have you tried starting your computer in safe mode and seeing how long internet pages take to load? If its OK it may be a software problem, if not it could be hardware.

If you have a new computer with McAfee Anti Virus on this may cause the internet to run slowly according to some users experiences.

You can also try changing the channel the router is broadcasting on if you are using wireless internet.

This service scan may help you identify the problem: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah

Hope one of those is some help to you.

What operating system and router are you using?
