      #388494 - Sun Mar 16 2008 04:39 PM

Hi there, i seem to have an IP address where I am behind a proxy. The IP concerned is 72.14.193.167. This is stopping me from accessing itvlocal programmes in the UK as it thinks I am in another country.

how do i remove this proxy?

Is this a personal PC or work? That address appears to belong to Google. Have you set up your PC to default to Google?

i have my home page set to Google.co.uk. But my IP begins 90.xx.xx.xx but i am sat behind a proxy beginning 72.xx.xx.xx which is in the United States.

I was trying to view www.itvlocal.com/granada and i kept getting the message that the content not available in this country. Possibly it thinks I am not in the UK.

This is a personal computer.

please advise

So why have you got a proxy address? You must have installed something to make that happen. What sort of connection do you have to the net? Is it a router or a USB modem?

In that case your IP address should be something like 192.168.1.2. Right click on the two little TV's in the system tray and choose Status. Click on the Support tab and tell me what is says against Address Type, IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.
