can u please tell me how to turn off the auto dialing to the internet when i go onto explorer ive always been prompted to connect......thanks

Open IE> Tools> Options> Connections> Tick Never dial a Connention> Apply. Then whenever you try to use IE a dial-up dialogue box will appear.
