I was forced to update from BT to Yahoo like all of their clients when BT got rid of their ISP clients to Yahoo. I did not like the Yahoo layout because I was constantly taken to pages I did not want. In addition, I found that my Home Page was hijacked and despite attempts to change it back, it always opened with Yahoo! Also, the old usual dialler was gone and some other dialler was in its place.
But there was redemption!
I just deleted all of the software that I had downloaded from Yahoo using the Add/Remove software feature in the Control Panel of Windows, and lo and behold my old IE dialler was back and my Home Page could be set again! In fact, everything was the same as before.
It was touch and go for a while - I was just about ready to cancel my account and tell BT, God and everybody what I thought of their service enhancement!
BT, why did you do it? The old service was much clearer and much better!

I changed from BT Openworld to BT Yahoo! voluntarily some time ago and, although I use the BT Yahoo! homepage on the BT Yahoo! browser, I still have my old homepage on IE and Maxthon. This is because SpywareGuard asked me if I wanted to have the new or old one when I was installing the software, so I kept the old one. Their new dialling software is much safer, the Internet Connection Manager protects you from premium rate diallers that you might accidentally download, it won't let your modem dial anything other than the correct number. I disagree totally that the old service was better and clearer, just more familiar. Madeline.
To err is human; to foul things up totally, you need a computer.
