I've just signed up for the unlimited freephone dial-up service from Fast4.net for £6.99 per month a few days ago. I was using the AOL free month trial but that is very slow compared to Fast4. (It feels like I have upgraded to broadband where web surfing is concerned! lol)
I can't fault the service yet as I've only used it for a few days so far, but I did a bit of googling and found alot of bad reviews about Fast4 unlimited dial-up about it being limited and heavy users being banned from the service. But these reviews etc are all from over a year ago. Have things changed now for the better? anyone here use or have used Fast4 dial-up?
I have also noticed that Fast4.net is owned/operated by v21.co.uk who always advertise there broadband in Web User magazine.
I would be surprised to still find people using a dial up service for large downloads. I imagine most of them have migrated to broadband by now. Do you intend to download a lot? £7 a month certainly sounds like a good deal to me.

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
I'm using dial-up because of what happened in this post. I don't plan to download large files with dial-up, just web and Outlook email. So it should do me for a while untill I'm back up and running on broadband again.
AOL wouldn't let me use my email host's smtp servers and it was hard to get AOL to send an email first time with Outlook. AOL are paranoid about spam.
Are you trying to get BB with AOL? I'm not a lover of that company as their software worms it's way into your PC and takes control. Their spam paranoia is only one symptom of their 'control freakerie'. If you're looking to use a router in the future, AOL will make it very difficult for you.

i signed up to this company while my broadband was going live £4.99 a month no contract. now i have connected to broadband i cant get dissconected from them they havent set up a direct debit and when i go into the members area to cancel it says that my subscription not up till next year stay well clear its a con i am not to bad as i have printed every thing off and sent it to my bank for them to act if they take a payment from my account i will do them with fraud they just dont want to lose your money.
I got the same problem as kojak when I went back to broadband and tried to leave Fast4.
They had changed my dial up account from monthly rolling to a full blown 12 month contract.
After changing my stored credit card details they no longer could take payments and after a few emails over a few weeks they got the message and changed my account back to monthly rolling so I could cancel it.
