I live in a country area with no possibility of Broadband for years. I use the Internet a lot, but can't really afford a second phone line. The prospect of modem-on-hold and quicker logging on with a v92 modem is very attractive. But does it work?
Is there anyone out there currently using a v92 modem for their dial-up access with an ISP that actually supports the technology? If so, what do you feel about it? Is it worth using?
Just as important, which ISP do you use. I would like 24/7 unlimited access, but does any ISP provide this with v92 access?

Most isps support v.92 modems. A good way is to ask them. Freeserve and BT will support it and they are 24/7 access

I use a v92 with aol, it`s pants, the best I can get is 32k. I had to play around with modem "safe modes" etc - aol were no help at all! with v90 I was getting 44k, it was steady, with no fluctuation. But that was on my older, slower pc - can`t have it all I spose.
