I thought Iplayer would be pretty cool as I work shifts and miss a lot of telly but when I tried to load it , message came up that it's only for British computers. Funny thing, I know I'm crap at geography, but I thought London was in the British Isles. I read further and the problems article reckons my IP addy may not be British. ISP I'm with is Tiscali, but I thought all IP addresses came through BT Wholesale, which again is a British company, but maybe I'm wrong. ITV's version plays no problem. Nice to see my license fee put to good use! Anyone got any ideas how I can get this to play on Icomputer (sorry, I thought everything starts with 'I' nowadays???)

Have you got some sort of IP spoofing software running on your PC? Can you go to Start, Run, type CMD and click OK. In the resultant window type IPCONFIG /all and press the Enter key. How may different IP addresses do you get and what are they?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

That's quite strange. Sometimes for some reason my IP address also does this (it did it in the middle of watching Dr Who!) and it also tells me I need to be in the UK to watch the player, a simple refresh of the page usually fixes it for me though.
Other than that I'd have no idea why your ISP would assign a non-british IP address to you, if the above solution doesn't work I suppose you could always call the ISP and see what they have to say about it.
Although that reminds me recently that some ISPs have been thinking about blocking BBC iplayer because it apparently is costing them a lot of bandwidth!
